The13thWarrior: Are you kidding.. I couldn't drink half that much anymore. I'd be completely legless and would never get up the stairs. So i'd have to sleep on the floor in the sitting room (Assuming i actually made it back from the pub?) God help me if i needed the loo.. I'd have to crawl there.
LOL {Drinking Beer}
Hi Mr Warrior ,i dont rate myself as a heavy drinker or regular drinker ,BUT
When i sometimes visit my local pub ,even if im not drinking and am passing to chat to a few friends i sometimes get roped in to join a band if its my friends who are playing .
Then its game on , the blasted Beer starts flying over the bar {all grattis}
I usualy drink Guinness , so these are always accompanied by Whisky { Jamesons"s}
It is not unusual to nip into a pub at 7.30 for a natter with friends and a Coffee and come out at 2 in the morning after 15 pints and chasers after each one , Still standing on the stage after all that .But obviously drunk in some stupid way
In response to: I was so tired earlier on, went to bed and within minutes I was wide awake.... So I've come back on here,lol....I suppose everyone is sleeping
Have a really hot bath to get your body temperature up to around 36 - 40 degrees celcius for 20 mins, get out and allow yourself to cool. This activates dopamine levels and stimulates your sleep hormones once you begin to cool down.
Go to bed before midnight and stay in bed no matter whether you sleep or not, for 8 hours. Get up out of bed after your 8 hour period even if you are wanting to sleep more. Making this into a regular pattern will get you sleeping into a regular pattern.
Try some bed yoga. Tense and relax each muscle from toes to head and face and take three deep breaths once you're done.

I have heard on the radio that it is more difficult to wind-down if someone is on the computer late at night just before bed, or watching tv just before bed. Perhaps a wind-down time such as time without tv or pc. Maybe some minutes just relaxing with soft lighting and relaxing music, then bath and bed, no tv watching before sleep. People who vary their shift work rotas which include night working have more health risks because of changed sleeping patterns apparently. I also think the 8 hours is not necessary - it depends on the individual.

Oh dear me! some people feel if they are up you should be also. I know you love your tea! Might I suggest a coffee before bed, works for me everytime. Its the only time of the day that I have one! Give it a shot!

The13thWarrior: Morning Dear, Hope Mr J hasn't nodded off in front the pc? Don't know about you. But no matter how tired i am i can't sleep during the daytime?
I wouldn't blame him if he has nodded off. I find it incredibly easy to nod off in the daytime. They do say that an afternoon nap is useful for anyone. I am a pretty calm person and not hyper so I find relaxing rather easy. I nap sometimes during the day but if it turns out to be a sleep rather than a half hour nap I feel groggy afterwards. Do you think people in warmer climes still have the siesta sleep. I know they used to but wonder if they do now.

If I may reply to you there Wow!! Yes the hot countries still do sleep in the afternoons. I lived abroad for a number of years. Shops close til evening. What a bummer I first thought. Its just too hot to work. The shops re open around 5.30-6pm and stay open til about 10pm so yes they do still sleep in afternoons is the answer to your question. Sail.

Good morning Sail. I wondered if things had changed in Europe with the siesta sleep. I know shops and businesses close for the afternoons and wondered whether they still go to bed or simply chill in the outdoors (chill meaning relax). Thanks for answering. Ok, logging off in a few minutes as work beckons. Catch you all later and have a good day.

I believe many still do, actually. Some in fact have changed their sleep pattern. Either working in, or running a business during the night hours.

Hi Mr Warrior , no ,no Guinnees ,my house doesnt have a Hatch with a barmaid walking thru it with a tray of Guinness and Whisky .

HI hun, eh? what? eh? damn keep you up all night! They are surely having a laugh. You were so right not to answer the phone. Even though you still lost your sleep. Careful of your health hun. Try and catch a power nap!

I'd be completely legless and would never get up the stairs. So i'd have to sleep on the floor in the sitting room (Assuming i actually made it back from the pub?)
God help me if i needed the loo.. I'd have to crawl there.
