I awaked this morning and decided to sit at the Park. (I got Breakfast at McDonalds). We have a herd of Deer where I live, and I was able to watch them.
The Doe (Female) came out of the woods first. That’s not normal because they usually hide in the bright Sun. Deer’s go by sense of smell and the wind breeze was in my favor, blowing away from me. My Mini-Van has tinted windows so that they couldn’t see me.
The Buck (Male) came out to graze shortly after…he must have been watching in the woods.
Deer’s are so shy. They have extremely good hearing. As they were munching on tree leaves, the blackbirds that flew above them they took no notice. When a siren from a Police Officer was blaring in the distance, they noticed.
A beautiful black cat, black body with white legs and feet, came out of the woods near me and pippin-pawed toward the deer’s. The cat became frightened and hustled away.
I went back to the Park later today...and yes, the deer were still there. When I lived in Kirtland, Ohio...I was able to hand feed them and in winter; I provided salt licks for them. Deers love salt.
