I am a wee bit surprised by some of the replies so far on this thread.I feel the main reason for joining a dating site is to meet the one.If a relationship comes from that ,what interest would you have remaining on such a site.
I know you say the forums and friends but surely you could keep in touch in other ways with friends you've made.Phone etc....I think it would be unhealthy for that relationship to stay on the site.
I dont think myself a bunny boiler .
..but personally I would have no interest in logging in and mailing...or reading mails from other people looking to date ...
I feel a lot of people are addicted to these sites...have no intention of ever stopping...keeping their options open.

who gives crap if they stay on or not. theres no law that says you have to leave the site if you meet someone.

If things go well for me, being here will fizzle with time, but personally don't give a damn if me or her stay on. Don't know how impressed i'd be with her mailing new people but as for the friends and banter here, why not?
I'd trust her to go to the pub with the girls where there is a much bigger chance of picking up someone than someone on this site, so why give a damn? 100% trust is what a girl I'm seeing receives, until they give me a reason not to. Be it this site, a pub or anywhere else. And I expect the same back.

I am realy talking about long term six or twelve months down the line and not after a handful of dates.And I do know a there are a few long term relationships on here that pop in now and then to the forums and can see no problem with that ,but not 24/7.
