jbomf: carlow was a garrison town so the town accent is alot different to other accents in the area both my parents are from other counties and my mother sent me for election lessons in case i picked up the accent
I also went for elocution lessons ... (Not that it did me any good, i am as common as muck), but i can still remember the teacher rapping a ruler and making me repeat the organs of articutation so many times that i still remember it today ............... the tongue, the teeth, the mouth, the lips, the hard and the soft palate and the lower jaw
