Glatlol: I actually never thought of it that way. Perhaps in some cases. I joined because I was out of the social loop so to speak, had spent years rearing the children and not socialising, when they go bigger and I had more time to myself I decided to actively try and get a social life together, googled singles sites and found here.
yeah i joined for much the same reasons, was out of the social loope for a long time, like apart from family nd friends me nd the ex had made together i didn't realy know anyone to go socialising with, so to open the door to the wild west i said i join a dating site to see what all the fuss is about

Up to very recently I had the kids every weekend so couldn't get out any weekend to meet people... so here at least you could talk to strangers..... sure for a long time the two that i got on best with on here are in their 40s and im 27, now there wasnt really anything gonna come of it other than friendship due to distance and that but still enjoyed talking to them. not everything has to be about dating sometimes making friends and seeing how it goes works or at least it did for mesalanky: how much you earn has nothing to do with who you are and people need to cop on to the world today and realise that there are plenty of people out there who would work if they could get it ad it shouldnt be held against them
