delamer: Lots of 'Mammy's Boys' waiting on women to take the initiative. I bet though that most of the 'men' in Italy were in their 20's?

When I visited Venice i noticed that they'd hit on anyone with a heartbeat! laugh

Actually it was kinda sweet. She was with her aunt who became unwell. He got a chair for the aunt and called a doctor. While the doctor was with the aunt, the guy offered to buy my friend a cup of coffee. A few days after the funeral... he rang her "to see how her aunt was" and they've been together ever since.

A few years ago I was living In a big shared house while I was studying, and the land lady called me to ask if I would show a girl around one of the empty rooms because she couldn't make it in time. She asked me out by the time I was showing her the shared living room laugh

Men don't tend to approach me as much, infact hardly ever. Had a few drunk chancers at the end of a night, but in general... they look at me from the bar and never come over.. moping

I once got asked for my number by a girl that worked in the petrol station i used to live around the corner from.......while filling my van up with diesel......was really awkward too because i couldn't really hear her with the noise so she stood there looking at me till i finished filling it up.........

Had a girlfriend at the time though

I used to spend every summer of my teenage years down in a caravan park in Carne, Wexford. One summer this guy stayed down for the whole summer break with his family and I worked in the shop. He came in every day to buy a packet of chewing gum and a cornetto. I thought it odd because he bought the same thing every day but sure there's nowt as queer as folk dunno

Anyway skip forward a few months and I am at home listening to the local radio station and the presenter is reading out a letter from a guy who was besotted with a girl that worked in a shop where he went on hols and he never had the guts to ask her out.....so he decided to do it live on air......the next thing I know the presenter is talking to him and they are describing me!! To cut a very long story short we became sort of local celebrities in our schools we went out for a little while afterwards but there was no chemistry so to this day we still remain friends.........and he is now a programme director of a radio station lol IRONY huh dunno grin

I once asked a dentist assistant out while sitting on the happy chair. She said it was nice to know that I was interested but that she was in a stable relationship for seven years. I gave her my best little boy hurt look and said ok. You see, now I would rather ask than always be wondering. I think if you ask nicely, normally you wont have your feelings degraded.
