Laralou: On a slightly different note, I would happily take on someone else's kids (and no that is not a line especially for you Jimbo! ) however I don't know if I could cope with the ex. As the child's mother she would always be in the background and I'd find that scarier than the Irish mammy!
i never thought i could be with someone with kids but here i am with someone with kids laugh havnt met them yet but im looking forward to eventually getting to meet them and in a strange way looking forward to meeting his ex cause they get on grand so theres no arguments and they are perfectly civil to eachother which seems to be very rare when theres a break up conversing

Crazylegs: Ah I always said I would never have children as to be honest I just didnt want them and now I have one. He is the best thing that has ever happened in my life and I couldn't imagine him not being in it.

That's so true u remember the days when u used to say u hated kids (figuratively of course) and now ur a mammy and such a good mammy at that so as Crazy says never say never.

laugh i think it depends on the situation, like my ex has no involvement in my time with my son or me on her time, but there are women/men out there that consatntly interfere, you make a good point though, several times i have had women say that the amount of time i have with my son is a put off

Being quite independent, the time you spend with your child wouldn't put me off. In fact I'd be concerned if you didn't want to spend time with him. uh oh However the ex's involvement would.

i would have an issue there myself, to me when a relationship is over then thats it no more contact, however if there are kids then you should be cival for them

I think thats great actually the amount of time you have and its a turn off for me if a man has children and doesnt see them much. and its good that you dont interfere with each others time thumbs up

I think a good relationship is really important for the kids however I know of quite a few people who ended up in bed with the ex after a tiff with the current partner. I'm not saying it couldn't happen in other relationships but if you see someone you used to be intimate with week in week out and you have the bond of the child with them could it be more tempting? dunno Plus some exs are just head-wrecksrolling on the floor laughing

It isnt all the easy when your ex is impossible and uses the kid as a weapon against yea,no matter what you do or try it nevers better i just fair play to Jimbo it great that the two of you get on for the child sake with me it just her been plain ould awkward the whole time it is very hard some dads to get on the there ex partners i think you could have never really have a healthy friendly relationship with an ex.JMO

Yup

A sentiment like that usually comes from someone who is childless themselves

laugh time is probably a thing to take into account there, im four year split now and was never tempted to go back, when you make a decision you stick to it, i have everything in writing in relation to access and custody 5050 on everything so no arguements
