I`m really surprised that they lasted as long as they did.Sounds like a lot of the employees are now working in the gold mines in Nevada. Here in Arizona we still have a town or two that is owned by copper mines....Until we work through all these forclosures across the nation there really wont be huge amounts of houses built.

Thanks for the response, it seems scrabble gets more attention than a serious story. When will I learn? It's interesting to me because I actually did a few stock trades in USG in the middle of 09 when I learned that people living in FEMA trailers and houses along the Gulf coast after Katrina were getting sick from toxic chemicals out gassing from wallboard imported from China because it was cheaper than domestic wallboard. I figured the demand would go through the roof when they had to retrofit all the sheetrock in 1000's of houses. I made about $800 and got out when I didn't see a boom in domestic wallboard. I did a search on my map program on Empire and that town is literally in the middle of nowhere. it's interesting that they even killed the zip code because the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation nearby uses the same zip code. I guess nobody gives a crap whether or not they get their mail.

Housing slump means no need for sheetrock.
