jvaski: Which is why we're considering breaking off as our own country as the Nation of California !
How soon can you get it done? Can we expedite this? Rush it along in some way? Plant nuclear devices into the San Andreas fault line to jar the State loose from the rest of the country?

AtwoZ: I believe you..As a matter of fact,-I´ve been applying for a Green Card/Work permission 3 times in just as many yrs,-but no luck..
But I have to be humble, and ask myself,-whay could I possibly offer the USA..So guess I´ll have to wait til times getting better....,and who knows,-maybe I´ll retire in Nebraska or upstate NY...
Nebraska?
Atwo, You are smart guy. Why retire in a state that is so flat you can roll a bowling ball from one side to the other side down the middle of the interstate?

The whole Country is lovely and for many reasons...The farmlands are beautiful, the lakes, rivers, the East, West, and Gulf shores, the cities and the rural areas, the mountains, the deserts, the canyons, the forests, the waterfalls......EVERYTHING!!

Hello Leigh,-yes,I´m sure it is...I´ve travelled across the East Coast and down to Texas, but it´s only a little part of that huge nation....So there´s much left to see.Personally,-I prefer the countryside,or small towns....
ttom500: Each his own. But Leigh tell him about Tennesse. Please before he makes this decision. Just mention Dolly Partin and Gatlinsburg to him.
Tennessee is one of the most beautiful states in the Union...also one with low cost of living and low to moderate state tax structure.....Dolly Parton has contributed much to the states economy and Gatlinburg is one of the most visited cities in the US!!! Snuggled into the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains, it looks like a fairy tale wonderland in the summer, winter, spring, and fall!

Some say Michigan is awesome....
I lived 26 years on Michigan. A lot of good people in the state. They all get covered ever winter with a lot of snow. If you like lakes and water. Michigan has it. 3 Great Lake on outside. And 10,000 lakes on the inside. Mainly it is one big coastline with some pine trees.
The rural area are the Upper Penn.....which is mighty cold....some have said frigid even....but I forget her name now. Intense prolonged temperatures below 0 degrees cause memory lose, you know.
And the northern part of the lower Penn.
And the ultimate Michigan joke is?
Q) How can you tell a Michiganer?
A) He is the person looking at his/her left hand for driving direction.
Some explanation is needed here, for Atwo. The lower Penn of Michigan is shaped in the form of hand....actually of a hand in mitten. Because it so cold there in the winter, they even put a mitten on the state.

Michigan is awesome Atwo...Surrounded by the Great Lakes, lakes so big you think you are actually looking at the ocean!! Winters there are very cold however and the demise of manufacturing has left the state in hard economic times, but if one is in the market for buying real estate, now is an opportune time....

I cannot add word to that as much I want too! Anytime someone says "sunggled" and "Dolly Parton" in the same paragraph, it does not get any better.

jlw45: i too have traveled through america...from one corner to the other and back again...and people are'nt really that different...i think, actually, they are pretty much the same everywhere i've been...but what i think "unites" americans is really kinda simple...but then again, i'm simple minded ..it is inherent...weither you've just got off the boat {and signed your documentation...lets not forget that} or you are a descendant of someone who was in the revolution...we all have one thing in common...and that is a desire for freedom...freedoms like no other country on this planet...it is within us all to WANT to be free...when those freedoms are theatened is when we are our at our best, as far as standing for one another...it is OUR country...it is'nt MINE or YOURS...it's our country...
