I'm like a bear with a sore paw (excuse the pun) headache, stomach ache etc. My daughter and I went out to dinner last night, 3 out of 5 times I get sick eating at that restaurant. When will I learn ? It's owned by carnivores. They know I'm a vegetarian. They are out to kill me, then possibly eat me. They are likely putting massive doses of MSG in my food in an attempt to tenderize me for that day when they devour me. No, the paranoids aren't after me. I've deflated all my balloons and hid the pins. Paws

I know there are certain restaurants that never agree with my stomach either but I always love their foods and never learn a lesson either lol

Maybe next time carry some Pepto Bismol or something like that to take before or right after your food?

And nah your not paranoid. Just a man with a lot of thought wine

hmmm yeah I agree...

one thing though that the things said about msg is often a myth...msg is even in things like carrots...there has been no reports of any allergies to it. and no research to prove that it's not good.

I love to learn all kinds of stuff and one thing I dread for sure is aspartame or anything close to it...

My kids being part asian and having jointly owned an oriental restaurant for a while...I'm sorry to tell you but unless it says"we cook without msg..." then most likely you have some in the food you're eating. I totally disagree with the amount sometimes used. but it's just like salt or anything else. should be used in moderation.

I particularly don't use MSG. I don't see the need in it for me. You can ask that they do not add MSG to certain foods...but the ones prepared in advance cannot...such as rice or balls or ect...stir fries are usually done on the spot so you can ask that they do not add any.

We respected the customer when he asked that we do not put any. But they were always informed of the food that had it in. I've seen many other restaurants disrepect the cx and still put it in. The fact is it's because the allergy thus far is untrue. Unless you are allergic to everything that contains msg. Such as in natural products like vegetables.

I'm not sure why people get reactions. They certainly don't often have the same habits as we do health wise or clean wise, but oriental food is very high in salt.

I have come to detect good and bad restaurants. Sitting on a chair in a kitchen where the chair is sliding across the floor and you can't sit still is horrible. I have never been sick from the 2 restaurants I've liked in Moncton.

Anyways...this one is a very long debatable one...many people have different views on it...but the fact is...could it be a pot that was left on the stove all week and reheated daily?(yes I've seen that at my ex's friends restaurants - reheated spareribs) or is it a too big amount of sugar or salt and ect...the composition of sauces is sometimes quite different and I know I felt it sometimes...
