Your Job!..... (39)

Aug 30, 2011 2:49 PM CST Your Job!.....
Well, are you happy with it?, did it turn out the way you hoped for or is it a big fat mistake?...
Me, Im through with the motor trade, we used to fix cars, now all we do sell time and rip people off!...
Its coming around for a career change at 52 years of age...
So, whats the story, are you going to stick it out, either part way contented or narked off with your "reasonably secure" job, or will you man (woman) up and break out of the safe cocoon of a "mc job" and make a differance to your life and those around you?....

I am only in my current job since March this year. Fortunatly I really like it.

Have been in 4 different jobs in the past 4 years, losing each one due to loss of business or budget cuts.

I made a complete change some ,years ago, my qualifications were in adult guidance and mediation. Just burnt out sorting out other peoples problems during a time that was very difficult for me in my personal life.

I know work in office management, I go in, do my job and go home and thankfully get well paid for it.

Brave move, and fair play to you, you can look at every penny you earn and know its been earned honestly, and that only makes it sweeter...cheers...

Sorry to hear you were unsuccessful with the interview.

A year out of work, you must be going batty.

Well the course will keep you busy but you may have to accept that you might have to look outside the field of work you want. Maybe consider going back to what you were doing before? Not what you want but if oyu have previous experience in something it will help.

I finished a course and work experience last March doing a City & Guilds course on IT Principles & Administration to go with a Certificate in Industrial Computing that I already have and a Fetac Level 5 award for Communications, Manual and Computerised Accounts and Excel, Database and Word. I think I am going to become one of those people that keeps collecting certs but never finds any work thats relevant where I can actually use them sigh

Having said that being a full time single mom keeps me busy so I must be a glutton for punishment, thats by far the best job I've ever signed up for but the overtime is a killer rolling on the floor laughing

I would like to retrain for a new job as well. I did the foundation for a counselling course but I can't afford to continue it for the moment. I'm not sure if it's really for me at the moment anyway. Right now, I am not sure which way to go so I am stuck in limbo and can only concentrate on finding the money to send my son to Uni dunno
