There is a flag that flies over Buckingham palace when the Queen is present called the Royal Standard. It was designed after the 1800 act of union and symbolised the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. That flag has never been amended. Oooh the horror Maintaining that act of union by force of arms a supreme act of terrorism that Ireland has ever witnessed
gleneagle: I think you are suffering from a persecution complex similar to what I've witnessed from the African Americans. Blaming all your own neurosis on your country and the native people who reside in it.
I'm a bit wary of learned anger as opposed to anger generated by experience.

There are two types of anger one genuine and one an act. The genuine anger is real and generated by experience. The acted anger is a show to create an image to intimidate an opponent and may not represent actual feelings. I remember my uncle one said of a man who got angry with him in the pub "That man would have no opinion at all if he had'nt heard someone else talking".

snowlynx: I agree with a lot of what you say and I will be in Cork too but please can we not talk politics when we are there? There are only a few meets a year and they are a chance for people to get to know each other (and even get off with each other if they are lucky). We can talk politics any time on here so it's not much to just forget it for a night is it?
I'll buy you a pint and we can talk about anything but politics?
