Obscuritan: Take care that you do not say anything offensive in the toast as this will detract not only from the speech, but from the wedding day and memories of that special day. Alcohol can also lead us to say things that we regret later, so be careful not to have too much to drink before you make your speech. Also, be sure not to implicate other family members in embarrassing or offensive anecdotes that might anger them as this will surely come back to haunt you.
This sounds like good advice.
