I came home and got a decent job laugh
People told me I was mad to come home in May as there was no work. It took me 3 months but after dropping my cv into hundreds of companies I got lucky.

cheers

Fair play to him.
I suppose it all depends on where you are in life and what options are open to you.

Step out and see what's around. You may regret it if you don't.

First of all, try finding out all of the employment agencies in the area you're thinking of locating to, and see if they could put you into a job. You may be lucky and they have something that you could 'walk straight into'

Above all, remember, Ireland is only an hours (2 hours maximum) flight away. So not as if you're leaving the continent, is it? And flights are cheap enough for you to travel 'home' once a month to catch up with friends.

In the late 80's I and many others took off abroad, out of sheer frustration and boredom of being unemployed, many have never, and will never return, some by choice, some by circumstance.
Seek out the local Irish community in which ever city you end up in, they will always know of any work going, after all, there are approximately 1.2 million Irish born people world wide. Even if things don't work out, at least you will have tried.

if you think you can make a go of things in another country.. go for it..!! this country is hea[s of trouble and be a long time before we're out of it... out of all my friends i'd say 80% of them have left to go to australia with no intentions of returning home!!
If you do decide to go, good luck!!! :)
