Gerry-built Renovations (2)

Finally had enough of the kitchen and bathrooms (especially the Mission Brown tiles in the showers with matching taps) so time for the makeover. It was getting tired and harder to keep clean. Having done a few houses over the last 30+ years (not this one)I deciced to get the experts in to do it in about 1/10th the time I would take.

Builders showed up today and I am hearing a symphony called "Smashing Tiles."

But this is not about the great job they will be doing.

This is about the houses I have had that were Gerry-built or Gerry-renovated.

Like one where some of the floor tiles were lifting in the shower. So I eased them up carefully to reglue them only to find that the shower had no lining and water was leaking out, rusting the steel frame. Meant ripping up all the floor tiles and part of the wall tiles to line it properly, after treating the rusty bits.
