However what distinguishes a type 5 is their thirst for knowledge, their ability to be very analytical (could come across as perfectionism?) and their desperate need for their own space (possibly a workshop?) as they fear having their energy drained by others.

I suppose I do have a need for knowledge and for understanding the reasoning behind things, I'm very much atheist and have no spiritual beliefs because I believe there are rational explanations to everything. I wont settle for blind faith!

Been giving it some thought Macca. You could possibly be a nine with an 8 influence known as the Referee. Nines will always try to avoid conflict however 8s are very protective of their loved ones or those they see as weak or vulnerable and will go head to head if necessary to defend them. Could be you are calm in most situations apart from when you feel your family/friends are being threatened?
