Hi Folks my heating broke last week and the plumber came and fixed it yesterday(problem with the Circuit board) but now the radiator in my sitting room wont heat up at all and ive checked its on and all the other bits. Any suggestions on what it might be and how to fix it?

I thought that aswell so Im getting a key in the morning but its not even heating at the bottom and Ive never had a prob with it before my heating broke blues

have a feel of the little bit of pipe going into the bottom of it,

if its only one rad its 99% certain an air block and needs to be bled. make sure you have a bowl and some cloths to mop up water.

open off the fitting and see have you water going to it first,if you have hot water going in , its an air lock you may bleed it , , the rad is full of airwink

Most likely an air lock, though sometimes caused by low pressure or debris inside the rad. If bleeding doesn't work, switch on the heating, wait 30 mins, then switch off the valve at every other rad in the house except for the non functioning one. This will increase the pressure, clearing the blockage and forcing hot water through. After that, switch the other rads back on.

He should have checked everything and balanced the system before he left

Yeah he was a great help....after he had finished pissing himself laughing at me.... Eh I had a little flood situation cos I did not understand the whole radiator bleeding processblushing blushing

He helped me too. I had an oil leak last year (right in the middle of all the snow!) and he gave great advice.

Grand so...I have to attempt bleeding some radiators over the weekend...I bought some kind of a gadget for doing it....hmmm...wonder where it isdunno laugh
