Microsoft,owned by left-liberal Bill Gates,is launching a new,highly demanded GPS-service named "Avoid Ghetto".....

But one can only ask,-why on earth is such a service needed?

"A GPS device is used to find shortcuts and avoid traffic, but Microsoft’s patent states that a route can be plotted for pedestrians to avoid an “unsafe neighborhood or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures.”

Created for mobile phones, the technology uses the latest crime statistics and weather data and includes them when calculating a route...."

About Gates being leftist that is relative.

In some European countries this service might not be necessary but in many other countries with high crime (mine included unfortunately) it could be useful to avoid problems and evade dangerously places to some extent.

In my country and my place, as soon as we know of a problem in some area, we do phone and send a note trough internet to family and friends and then they phone and place a note on the different internet tools to let people know of a possible danger and avoid those places the most possible.

Regrettably, not always we can avoid the danger and we have had many sad situations, with lost of human life.

Interesting note AtwoZ, thanks.

If offered the chance to avoid an area that stopping at traffic lights could result in a potential dangerous situation, or going around the area, I know what route I'd take.

Yah, I'd take the safe route. May be longer, but at least I'd know I'd be getting there in one piece, and with my car.
