bit harsh! surely most people with an ounce of humanity in them would stay a bit and chat and see what the person is like?
Unless the guy is a total pig, I would stay and see what craic there was in him. I could never be that dismissive and cruel to just get up and leave because I don't like the packaging!

to blazing fire: I hope you have a great night.....see it as a bit of fun with someone you must at least like a little if you have organised to meet up....hope it goes really well grin

all dates are different so there are no set rules, personally i don't mind hearing about someones ex as it gives an insight into where they are coming from, it also shows an openness just don't go on about them all night, do ask questions it's nice to know your date is interested in your story, other than that just play it cool

Hmmm, let's see. .

Tell him you like his perfume and ask him where he gets it.

Try to fart audibly a few times, shows you're comfortable around him.

Talk about your kids and show alot of pictures. If you don't have kids, borrow pictures of a friends, or relatives kids and insist you're their favourite Aunt.

Stare at his shoes long enough for him to notice, then ask him how much they cost.

Tell him you never put out on the first date unless the guy is loaded. That way he knows you've got class.

Ask him where he sees himself in 5 years. Then ask him where he sees you in 5 years. That'll quickly clear up whether or not he has any psychic ability.

Tell him you don't expect a gift for Valentines Day, but that expensive gifts usually show that people care - follow that up with a long silence. Look at his shoes again if you must.

Make sure to tell him that you don't want to get tied down too soon - You usually leave the S+M for the third date.

Yes I have to agree, it sounded quiet blunt, but I didnt mean it like that..Ill keep an eye on my writting :) But honestly, in a way...whould you want to stay there for an hour and just give them falls hope..... I have done that...and then when was asked out again, had to say no.....and if you cant say it in face, it feels dreadfull....we are what we are..we cant like all the guys we go on dates with....and sometimes you have to be harsh, but in same time honest......sorry if I made you sad and angry about that comment, but its life I guess...:)

It didn't make me sad or angry to be honest.....I know a guy who drove a 3 hour round trip to meet a girl for lunch. She walked in, took one look at him and said "sorry you're not my type", and left.
I totally understand where you are coming from re not giving anyone false hope etc, and you are right about that.
However there are subtle ways of enjoying someone's company without leading them on or letting them think you fancy them.

When I first read your post I thought you meant leave because you don't like the LOOK of them, now I understand what you mean.

each to their own how they approach dating I guess.....but I have had many interesting chats and laughs and have built up some great male friendships from dates with guys that I didn't fancy or they didn't fancy me.

I didn't join this site to make friends but that is what happened, and I appreciate every male friend I made here.....teddybear

It sounds like an excuse...if it was such a deal breaker then he would hardly have met, or would have made it clear the meeting was as friends only...dunno
