Are you set on a Southern Man? I would think that a Gentleman with values would also do unless you are set on the South. As for animals and gardens and whatnot, upstate NY, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, the list could go on and on. But if you know what you are looking for and that is it, I wish you all the best and hope you find happiness. Kevin

You will find this country is loaded with gentleman, as well as low lifes, players, married men posing as single, etc. Keep your head straight, don't limit yourself, and make sure the man you fall for is sincere and a GENTLEMAN!

HA I am not a southern man but I am a true southern girl. The values and traditions are alot different. I have also lived in Ny, Syracuse to be exact and I can tell you that the values is a 0, and kindness is -0. The older generation there are so brutal that when they smile it forms a crack in their face. In the south it is very different. That is why we are known for our southern hospitality. Goodluck on the southern man thing and goodluck on the garden and animal thing, as a kid I loved it as an adult I love watching everyone else do it grin

I have had several male co worker from the south all were charming wonderful guys - and married....

first one that gets single and Ima grabbing my hog tiegrin

from a cultural standpoint, some - the well bred ones - really are more gentlemanly, less argumentative, and more easy going than a lot of northern men - as general rule - there are always exceptions

felixis99: I totally undertand where she is coming from too

when I hear that Ky draw on a man or a memphis twang _ Ijust get all weak in the knees cuz I know he gonna say yes'em and "now honey just set on my lap" - I think men in the south are raised to put women on a bit of a pedestal and protect them and that can be a real turn on

A shame it's such a long flight from here... Oh well good luck girls wine

doberman3: I completely agree, New Yorkers are full of it. They are rude. They are too busy to talk to you. They also will get right in your face if they do not like what you say.
Who would I pick, the Southern Man or a New Yorker? The Southern Man.
Plus, we have the best Sweet Tea around. The New Yorker guy has not tasted my fried blackberries: fresh berries, corn starch, sugar, and water. Gently satuted until everything blends together and becomes a sauce. Always vanilla ice cream on the side. Fresh picked vegetables like corn, baby lima's, and tomato's. Nothing could be better.
thumbs up Sing it sista.. I was born in Alabama and so I can relate to everything you said in ur post. "Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, high school football, and country music. It's being hospitable, being devoted to porches & sweet tea, and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way."

im southern and i love it.
