I don't but my mate had one a few years back. And it was pretty nice. But beware projectors come with big differences in quality. Some are noisy (the bulbs get really really hot and have to be cooled by internal fans). Also, the bulbs they are really expensive (€200+ depending). Be careful with them... no tossing around the projector while the bulb is still hot.

I have heard that too and you are right. Best to shop around and see what meets your requirements too.

Unless you happen to need one for work or for a venue, don't touch a projector. The picture quality is generally poor to mediocre, the bulbs are expensive and blow without warning, they will need external sound amplification for your audio track and dialogue, the bulbs are expensive, you will need a screen and a large wall space for it plus you lose a lot of floor space using one unless you wall mount it, there are lots of cables needed to get one working and they need their picture source to be beside the projector; impractical for changing channels or DVD's.

Lastly, they are very expensive to purchase and set up; you will get a hell of a lot of television for less than half the cash outlay to get it up and running. A pub I done some work in spent almost €2,500 on a projector 4 years ago; the same money today could get you this monster
