if and its a big if because i am to outspoken ... but i would by referendum, ask what the people wanted a future for their children ,or a good time now ,then if the ans was for the children ,then i would make a tax on motorof 200% ,to encourage public travel by public transport, which would be free free medical care for those in need ,an end to immigration and the repatreation of those from outside the eu, and much more but i feel i have already said to much but i say only what people think.professor

crying Yikes Wedy, you would send ME back to Africa?! After I have braved all the millions of small african states, the dusty dirt roads, the no water en route, the bribery of border guards, the long haul by camel thru the Sahara Desert, the swim accross the Mediteranean sea to Italy, then avoiding the Italian border guards, my trek over the Alps, just to get to Switzerland! Sleeping in the forests during winter, buried in snow, negotiating my way overland without understanding a word of SchweizeDeutsch, where eventually, because of my intrepid brave journey I am welcomed with open arms...
...... only to have you, when you elected to rule the country, send me back to darkest africa!!!!!!!cool

cheering |Okay, I have been elected the New President of the Country (a bit awkward here, could be CH and inc. EU, but just imagine one big country, okay).... and I am making a New Law that you all got to obey.

My New Law is THIS: In households with dependent children, one parent has to not go out to work.... only one working parent per family. ( Banks, landlords, etc will just have to re-adjust their incomes to allow for the lesser earnings)
Couples who co-habit, if there are children, will also have to obey.

Wonder how this would work out? Give me your feed-back here.... just in case I do become the new president, I dont want to be making wrong laws!

This is your New President speaking.... and I have just passed a New Law. You will all use the excellent Train and other Public Service Transport as from Monday. No longer will you be allowed to travel all alone in your motor vehicle, into the cities. All motor vehicles, should they be used, must be fully occupied by at least 4 persons.

This is being done to conserve the vital resources of the Planet, and to prevent pollution.

My car is loaded with 4 lovely passengers all women . We have made an alternative arrangement for recovering my expenses , I don't have to cook , don't have to do the laundry , one will do my house cleaning and the other will help me bathing . We are all very happy xx . Thanks Mrs. President what a exln't idea .. If only every man could fill his car with four women then all our worldly problems will go away .. Umm I think someone has already mentioned ' A man , 4 women thing ' before but his name has slipped from my mind laugh Oh I forgot to mention that all these women are agents of the most influential powers on this planet . One works for CIA , One for KGB , one for SIS , one for Mossad and the other Chinese .. You have worked it out that I mentioned 5 . Don't be surprised , one is under cover and you won’t see her sat in the car . We all like to thank the EU for letting us to try out this experiment . Our activities are non nuclear and indeed , not sure if ECHO but very very very friendly .. Thank heavens I have three days to recover .. smitten Our thanks to all involved . No we do not take advertisement . Vote for Smokey applause

And here are your new laws.

From now on the national language of your respective country shall be Swahili.

Anyone under the age of 18 is NOW 18 years old and eligible to vote.

Everyone must change their underwear every 30 minutes. Checks will be carried out and in to facilitate the checking progress, underwear must be worn on the outside over the clothes.

Yes, sounds reasonable as far as laws go.

I'll wait for my assasination in due course.

In the movie Bananas, the new Dictator For Life declared that everyone will now wear their underwear on the outside and everyone will have a Swedish surname....I think that in Moon Over Parador, there was a Ministry on Lingerie.....a real delicate job...%)

Good question, how? What I perceive as family values or what they percieve? And is it possible to know what every one perceives? And perhaps even when we look at what we feel is the "majority" of what family values are, what about the minority? What works for some might not work for all. And in that I should I actually place some sort of absolute, then have I not taken away from a freedom?

I also do not like how things are that families tend to do certain things but I also could not bring myself to put into a law forcing them to conform. There are already laws in effect that makes it a crime hurt one another or to hurt the kids...laws that hundreds of year ago did not exist so....like I said VERY GOOD question...

Family Values.... come from the Family, dont they? I think they are the Love of the Family.

I just heard from friends in South Africa, where the death rate from Aids is frightening, that the rural areas are about 50% inhabited by child families.... where the parents have died, and these little children are living alone with their siblings, maintaining their homes, and trying to survive! Where before the grandparents took over the families left behind, they are running out of grandparents, because the parents (next generation of grandparents) are dead from Aids. Now a (one only) NGO is trying to help these kids, before they die from starvation and neglect.

These little kids, with no examples to follow, are trying their best to have some sort of value in their family, by sticking together, and doing their best, with what they have, which is not much at all.... and worst of all is that they seem to have no future.

So, maybe in some sort of way, each family sets its own Values. And I agree, there are no Laws that can encourage Value in the Family... only Love can do that. And this ties in with the other Thread about Marriages breaking up and the reasons.... I think its "Dead Relationship"?
