galrads: Umm, well, my CS name doesn't do much. My last surname being the same as Galileo's hasn't done anything regarding destiny either.......
"The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do."
Galileo G.
Songbirds: Hi, interesting question. I believe that, yes, your name does have an influence. But then, I beliebve in the metaphysical and numerology. Ultimately, you are in charge of your destiniy and, if your name, according to numerology is not a fortunate one, you can change your name and you should.
Oh, I can just hear those eyebrows going up and down with skeptisism. I am not worried, we believe what we want to believe. My belief, however, is based on lots of literature and I used to study astrology at the Institute os Science in London.
Good luck
Thanks SongBirds
Best to you!
Glatlol: No, is just a name my parents liked, has nothing to do with my destiny.
Do you have a destiny? Do you make your own destiny?
AtwoZ: Hello Miss Dream...but,exactly do you mean?
Is this a matter of,if you belong to a minority?
I kinda like my name, and never had a problem with it,even though it´s hard to pronounce....
Hi Sunshine!
What exactly I do mean? Again: do you have a destiny? Does your name shape it? Define it?
To belong to a minority?
Being among a small group of genius? That is a minority group.
You name, being difficult to pronounce? Only that?
Boban1: Well lets see... my name derived from Bob ( bean )and it allegorically means small tiny .It appears that the name Bobo can be found in Africa and also means small ,tiny ...
lifeisadream: The first question I should have make is:
Is there a destiny for every one?
Then make the other question about names shaping, defining…destiny.
We all have a destiny .... Whether we happy with the result is up to us ... And if you not happy ... Well we can always change it ... Coz we are the architects of our own destiny
I believe in number numerology ..... I find it very enlightening ......
I come from an Hindu home .... So our letters of our names are given by a guru when we are born .... He checks with the date, time, and the planets ...and gives two letters to choose from .... I love both my English and my Hindu name .... My name has become me and I have become my name .....
About destiny well I think that's up to us and not our name
"Actions are the seed of fate deeds grow into destiny." Perhaps.
Harry S. Truman
venusenvy: Interesting question Life....Numerologists would say absolutley
“The willing, Destiny guides them; the unwilling, Destiny drags them”
jono7: jono - god is gracious
sometimes folks change it to juno (not my fav....) but means protector of women
is it effecting my destiny? ...dunno
“I can't control my destiny, I trust my soul, my only goal is just to be.
There's only now, there's only here. Give in to love or live in fear. No other path, no other way.
No day but today.”
CaptainCrunch: I don't think so....unless your sur name has to with Kennedy, Rockefeller, Barrymore...that type of name. lol
Kennedy? no
Rockefeller? I have heard of it I think……not.
Barrymore? I have not idea but not.
You might be right, my surname has given me some problems in my country but I am not related "lo juro" !!!
almera03: My parents wanted to name me. little smelly git,

“The future destiny of a child is always the work of the mother+father.”
Napoleon Bonaparte (I made a correction on Naopoleon’s quote I hope he would not mind).
My name means Become Great
I think it has nothing to do with my destiny
You never know!
Ur_Knight: *Victor* means to *win*...
Now, I just have to find someone to *win with* and I'll be all set I've always been conscious of something my dad said, while explaining our name to me, when I was growing up (his name was Victor as well)
"You can do (or be) anything you want... you just have to want it *bad enough*"
and it *has* shaped *who I am* and *what I do*
Víctor is a lovely name!
Time for me to get ready to see my moon. (I will continue tomorrow commenting on your comments, thanks in advance).
Tomorrow ia going to be a rough day. (I hope it will be for others )
My first name's meaning is The Hunter but I do have a middle name.
I dated a man that meant to call me apple dumpling or turtle dove and ending up whispering "turtle dumpling" instead..... I hope that name didn't shape my destiny
YEs i believe the name has very much impact on ur life cos in our culture when child is born according to time, date, place & position of plante guru give the zodiac sign according to which only we have to keep name & after that they write a book call kundil which is one kind of hand book for my whole life.
In my case, my family name has been a source of shame to a lot of the men in our family. A relative, a professor at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands, actually researched the genealogy of the family to find out the origin of the name to find out it's true meaning. He was relieved and made a big point of it in his book on our genealogy, to find the original different meaning of the name, which dates to the early 1600s. The name was at least one of the reasons my father took his family to the US.
A little Indian boy sat on a rock outside the teepee looking very depressed. His father the great chief of the tribe came to him and asked "My son,,,,, why are you depressed? What is troubling you". The boy looked up at his father and said "Father,,,, how do we get our name?". The father said "Well my son,,,, that is easy,,,,, when child is born ,,,, we look out teepee and ,, first thing we see,,, that will be the name of child", "like your sister,,, running deer". "So tell me ,,, what is troubling you,,,,, Two dogs screwing".
My name is derived from Michael. My mom told me once that Michael was the arcangel and I was named after him so he would protect me from ghosts and monsters. This was odd of her, because we're not religious. My last name means "welder" in German. Sometimes I do soldering or make lead figures. So I think I'm protected by Odin and Thor. And if I die fighting I may get into Valhalla.

Does your name decide your destiny?
Or
No, names have nothing to do with people's destiny.
Well, not mine but some other people's: yes, maybe.....Any other options?
Great day-night!
perhaps if you're called Ben Dover
