This little boy is deaf. When he "signs" his name it looks like the shape of a gun and the school wants him to change the way he signs his name because they don't want anything in the school that looks like a gun.

and, i'm really curious, WHAT weapon do they see in that sign? i watched the video very carefully, i saw no resemblance to any weapon.
Hi Birdie....I think when his fingers are crossed and his thumb is up straight it does resemble a gun BUT this child isn't mimicking that he's shooting someone. He's saying his name. I think the parents will win the case. I just hope the school doesn't make things difficult for the boy such as telling him not to do it. Don't we have enough real problems in this world without stressing out a little 3 year old too.
This is what you get when you have GOVERNMENT in education! The more idiots in control of education, the less our kids will get educated. Time for Education to go to Charter Schools!

I don't know OG. It sounds more to me like this school is paranoid. This can't be the only child in the U.S. whose sign name looks like a gun.

Actually kids cant even bring in a army man with a gun, nor can they wear a shirt that is patriotic of a soldier.. Here in Oregon, I believe it was in Roseburg, there was a Hammer and Sickle in a display case at a grade school.. WTF???

Are you kidding me? I assume a police officer can come in the school wearing a weapon to speak before a class but a military man can't? That's really strange. That's pushing it too far as not being able to wear a military shirt. Kids who have parents in the military wear the shirt to support their parents and the military.

Thats a army man as in plastic toy army man... I kid you not.. that is how pathetic it is!
