I used to have free banking for over 20 years with one of the bailed out banks, but recently they said I now have to pay them a quarterly fee and a per transaction fee, unless I have a massive balance in the account or I do E3000 worth of business per month through the account.

Also on my credit card with another of the banks I used to earn interest if I had money on balance with it. That soon went when the banks got into trouble. So now I just put enough in the account to pay the bills, which means I have to keep more of an eye on my statements.

I have to say Fair play to the Ulster Bank cheers

I kept getting reminders that if i hd been out of pocket to write them a letter which would be acted upon within 5 days ...So i did .

I was immediately credited the money in my bank following a phone call and then another €25 for an overall apology .....

I told my son in the car what they had done and he then reminded me that i had said i would buy him a phone if he done reasonably well in his Junior Cert mumbling

Moral...Trust the banks but not your kids mumbling

Call the bank in question. As them for a copy of the original laon agreement and make sure they can so that. Also there is a chance they wont have your original. Those things always get lost in "Iron Mountain". If they can't provide it just pay what you were originally going to. There is nothing they can do.
