I'm trying to go grain free (or at least drastically reduce grain intake) to see how it affects my health/mood/weight etc but struggling with the kids - I think I'll have to aim to just half their intake for now. I know it's some way off a full paleo diet but it's a start. I think. Anyone recommend any recipes/reading etc.

Sprouted wheat, etc...not exactly grain free. Look for Ezekiel Bread, Squirrely Bread. Several varieties for each. A tad spendy, but worth it. Very good for you. You can also get rye potato,, rice, etc..breads. Might try Slim Fast for a week or so. (It sort of "kick starts" your metabolism, which is what most of us need. ) Just some thoughts, not 'advice', you understand. (!!) Good luck.

Sorry, see you're across the waves. Do you have Co-Op groceries there? Hippie-type markets? That's where you can find that sort of thing. Can you get to Dingle? It seems to me there are a few of those types of bakeries/markets there.

Thanks for reply. Been doing a weight loss thing for a while - convinced thet there's way too much sucrose/fructose/wheat - carbs from the wrong sources etc in my everyday diet. Yet most commercial diets are geared that way. Hard when your indoctrinated to see fat as the enemy to start embracing but I'm sure it's insulin resistance rather than fat consumption that's my problem (although gen bloods do not put me in diabetic category). More I learn, the more confused I get - it's not difficult
