that's paying twice, since it is assumed the building, the officials and the service obtained by the citizens who keep the line are paid with taxes.

So, those who pay twice are damaging the public service for the rest of citizens.

Supposedly every citizen is equal than other front the law.thumbs down

You pay more for a better sevice, what's so crazy about that?

I can think of instances where money shouldn't dictate a service, like education & health. But with most things if you've got the money, and you're not a fool with it, you will get what you pay for.

Kind a streeeeetching things, yes? Look the TSA set up the airline so that frequent fliers that had been security screened could easier boarding.

Meaning since most were business persons, they could make business meetings easier.

Sure you can wait at Wendys. But they have food when you to get the head of the line. Not like cracking Communist Russia in the early 1990s. Get to the head of the line, still meant a bribe to get any food.

Most lines in the US are not bad. Though I waited in line for a hour a month ago to renew a driver's license. Go to Disney in the rush season and you can find out what a line is. Your children can be young adults by the time you through with Little Tea Cups and It is Small, Small World. Opps...now I am stretching things....))

During the 80's, the Yuppie types would often barge ahead in grocery lines, which created a lot of anger in the stores I was familiar with. I can fully understand that anger. It is really unfair when anyone, rich or poor, jumps ahead of others in the line. I hate it when rich people throw their weight around, just because they have money. They get off scott free when they get in trouble (Hollywood stars, for example), they somehow manage to get projects through (hmmm...I wonder how? Bribery, maybe?) when others can't even make a dent, and so forth. This is totally wrong in my book. It's different, of course, if Joe Billionaire want to buy his own fancy car or private jet, since it's his money. But, to pay extra to get to the head of the line when others have been waiting longer, is wrong, wrong, wrong!!! There have been occasions when I have had just one item in my hand, and the person ahead has had a whole basket of groceries. On rare occasions, such people ask me to go ahead of them. That is totally different from paying to go to the head of the line, or just barging ahead without permission.

The times do seem to be changing, though. The fiasco at Penn State, also right now there is a Polo Billionaire in Florida being raked over the coals for a car accident. It's not looking good for him. Government officials used to be pretty much untouchable, but in the last two decades they've fallen hard, too. Still, one needs money to hire a good law team, and there are cases of poor people being completely innocent but not able to defend themselves properly.

Oh, that's another thing. O J Simpson got off scott free on the criminal charges because he had some expensive lawyers. A poor person would have been fried, with public defenders who had a poor defense.
