you can download songs from youtube using a converter..plenty of them about quick google search will find them..I use clipgrab..only problem with this way is its very slow compared to what GS mentioned...Piratebay is a quick way to get free songs and albums..not sure of the legality of it all but I don't think you care about that oh and make sure you have good anti virus..that piratebay has quite a few nasty Heuristic trojans and malware floating about it..

youtube and then use a converter, that's what I do, oh and here is your hat
mcattack: I downloaded clipgrab but still haven't really a clue what to do then, it said it worked but then when i press play on the shuffle i get Stephen Hawking telling me "Please use iTunes to sync music to this iPod"
copy and paste the youtube address of the video you want to convert to sound into the field provided by clipgrab then press convert to MP3 and then save it to a file of your choice..then afterwards transfer it to your ipod by copy and paste...I don't have an ipod myself so I don't know why its not working for you..I just bought a cheap sony ecrisson phone and put a 32gb micro sd card into it..holds thousands of songs
ssssshhhh dont tell anyone but i use mp3 rocket and works really good
