Why does the # of people go up, but when you go to see if anyone has left a message in your forum is it empty what is it too boring to leave a message or do they just feel it would be a waste of a second to leave a message for people to read
Some might simply not have a comment on that subject at the time. SOme like to read and not post. SOme like to think about what they are posting before they actually say anything.
I get emails quite often about poetry that I post. Most of those emails are from CS members who don't post at all. When I check out their profiles I see that they have never made a forum post. That's one reason they sent me an email to comment on the poetry, they didn't want to post to the forums. Most of those emails are from very young women. I mean like way too young for me, they are commenting on poetry PERIOD. They are not hitting on me.
2. Anyone in the general public can read the CS forums even if they are NOT a member of CS. Yet those readings are counted. So when you see the read-count go up it could be a non-members who can't even post if they wanted to (without joining first)
3. And then finally, even active posters of the forum may peek into a thread and simply decide that they aren't interested in the topic. It takes time to post, especially for people who are on dial-up like me. I decided to post here simply because I felt like addressing the issue. I almost didn't post, but I could see that someone needed to be edjamacated.
