montemonte: The state of Utah has an open gun carry law so technically he wasn't doing anything wrong but how smart was it to do that in a store.
My personal opinion is that it's INSANE to carry a gun like this into a store where there are children.
When you look at the video, imagine standing next to him when you pay for your purchase.
He wanted to prove that law abiding citizens are not a threat when they carry a gun.
Did he go to the extreme to prove a point?http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/18/joseph-kelley-gun-rifle-jc-penney-guns-safe-law-abiding-citizens_n_2504142.html
Yes and no. but tell you what, if someone was planning a shooting, probably said, wtf a criminal isn't safe anymore!!!
This picture was taken at a JcPenney by me, here in Riverdale, Utah! He is NOT breaking any Utah State laws. You DO NOT have to be a CCP holder in order to open carry in Utah as long as it is 2 actions away from firing. If you ARE a CCP holder in Utah, your firearm can be loaded. Obviously he is exercising his 2nd amendment right! People are torn about this picture and wondering if he is going overboard. I think he is proving a damn good point!

GUZMAN1: According with that list, in Utah...should this man have an special license to carry a gun there?
I would imagine he does have a license for both guns since he's openly carrying them in the public. And especially since he's trying to show that he's not a danger to anyone in the store.
People have pulled the same stunt boarding an airplane with a hidden gun to prove that they were able to get on the airplane and that security checks don't catch every gun.

So, it's a kind of demonstration, something il.legal but not punishable?
.....he did prove a point......females tend to get hysterical about obvious good intentions....back off.....i am sure there are places in jersey where you would not dare to tread....unarmed......we have a right to protect ourselves.....his point is well-taken.......just how many illegal guns are on the streets of chicago....?......in the hands of ignorant cooties who shoot people for the hell of it.......protect yourself from these types, missy........
If I had an AR assault rifle, and we could carry them, I would wear mine to Walmart with camouflage Pyjama pants and a 3 Wolf Moon Tee shirt. Owoooooo!
hmmmmmm ....i don't think he proved anything, the gun could have easily gone off and injured someone, one can only presume its loaded, doesn't prove nothing cept there is a stupid open gun carry law

You are most definitely correct that there are towns in New Jersey that I wouldn't venture into during the daylight.
And I have no doubt that there are people in New Jersey that have a gun under their jacket BUT those are the criminals.
People in New Jersey don't have this need to carry a gun to protect themselves. It's just not the way we live.
Thing is, I didn't know until I read the article in this link that New Jersey is an open carry state (licensed required).
I have never seen anyone in New Jersey walking around with a gun on their hip unless it's a police officer.
