I use to believe that too. But recently I've been talking to ex UVF prisoners and they are talking about the same issues on republican forums. The biggest problem is both the DUP & SF are creating and keeping alive divisions for their own ends.

Ah I knew it wasn't Faul. Yes Raymond Murray but there were one or two others as well, O'Duill is a friend and supporter of RSF and O'Bradaigh I believe.

What I found surprising a few weeks ago. Two ex UVF prisoners told me the feel culturally Irish but politically British. That tells me they are more than half way there in being convinced that the future is united. Today they are both community workers trying to bridge the divide for the next generation.

Well thats good to hear a positive note, thanks be to god all that hate is coming to an end, its the only way jaw jaw is better than war war but theres always a few ,not to mention a lot of people make money from it as well with the border etc,but it could easily go back that way again.modermen: I renember a woman speaking about when law and order broke down and gangs take over ,she said the Irish government should of taken a part in what was going on and tired to make things stable there,a good point I think but maybee easy to say.
If that had of happened (The Irish Gov sending Irish troops) across the border, chances are the UN would have got involved and a lot less people would have died. IMO.
I think they didn't because the then Irish Gov. were afraid of things spilling across the border.
What I know today is the whole island runs at a loss of between 25-30 billion euro annually. Partition hasn't worked and the people who are suffering are ordinary working class families trying to make ends meet. And within 6weeks welfare reforms being ushered in the o6c will mean less money for those who need it most.
And there is a chance (slim) that both sides can unite like the Belfast relief riots of the 1930's..

They (political elite in the o6c) don't want to learn from past mistakes. During the political process (it's not a peace process), members of SF, DUP, UUP and Alliance parties went to SA on a fact finding exercise and Mandela had to give seperate talks (instead of the one that was planned, the DUP & UUP refused to share the same room as SF)..And he had this to say after...

As for the truth being told. Unfortunatly it will never be told. None of the politicians are prepared to tell the truth. Do you ever think Gerry Adams will admit to being in the PIRA? Or will Peter Robinson come clean on his involvement in importing arms for Ulster Resistance? Neither are the British Gov. they are still covering up truths form other colonial exploits...
