Please don't post any Rock & Roll or anything later than the mid 50's this thread is about the music choices people had before R&R hit the scene.
This is Patty Page doing Tennessee Waltz. You can see she is not lip syncing by how her chest heaves. Please also note what perfect pitch and breath control she had

Eddie Fisher was quite popular before R&R took over the airwaves. He had a great voice and was quite a teenage heart throb. He must have had something to land Debbie Reynolds and Elizabeth Taylor.

Glen Miller was huge during World War 2. He and his orchestra made a lot of really great music. This one is called Perfidia. It's been done by many many artists. Do a search for this song by the Four Aces to hear a much faster version of this song.

Oh heck, I found it for you.

Which do you prefer? I kinda like the Four Aces.

My god how I adore this woman. Look at those teeth, that energy, that voice, that power, whew she was in a class all by herself.

How about some Frankie Laine?

This song conjurs up vivid images of time long ago and far away.

I luv it! I also am really impressed by this one with Natalie Cole and her dad. Such a beautiful picture of the two of them sitting at the piano you can really feel the love he had for his adorable little girl. Whoever made that overdub duet did a fantastic perfect job.
