I wonder what is gained by calling a complete stranger a name, just because one 'thinks' he is different than him? It's that element of it that I do not understand. If I had provoked him in any way, made a pass, etc... that would maybe explain the outburst. But to bash someone just because? That is irrational..
I think it might be for same reason some men join gangs. They see the world of men as being two groups, the aggressors and the victims. They are trying their very best reassure themselves of their place with the aggressors.
...and they very much want to see you as a member of the victims.
To see the opposite would frighten them terribely.
I wonder about that playing a role in escalating the irrationality, to violence.
