Men are such simple creatures and really not half as complicated as us - if you take a man at face value without tryng to categorize him you'd find out he can be your nerd; your jock; your sensitive best friend; your warrior and protector............he can be everything for you the moment he realizes you will be everything for him as well.

Yes, emotionally we're less complicated and we demand less to be satisfied(in general). But we're not thick; men built civilisation and created maths and science and these are all pretty complicated. We grapple with external complexities to achieve progress and/or understanding. We don't really do internal complexity for complexity's sake because of our smaller egos.
But no, most nerds are not jocks, most nerds avoid confrontation and when they don't they get get their arses handed to them by earthy men. I know amongst many of my friends I'm one of the few that can spell. Your belief/expectation that men can be all things would make much more sense if you had a picture up of a really hot babe. You know, the 8+'s that can actually attract these kinds of men.

Isn't that the way it is supposed to be? If we spend too much time and energy categorizing or compartmentalizing a person we may never truly get to know the real person simply because of basing our judgements on stereotypical expectations or flaws only.

You like being called "simple" then?
"Complicated" I would need to have defined in this context, but if it is what I think LoriJames means, I don't believe for one minute it is gender related.

Great!! At least you can relate that I was generalizing.

Did you not notice the laughing emoticon I used? Of course I wasn't referring to the OP comment literally. And I certainly don't think you are "simple". I don't know you at all.
As for previous comments, it's fine for those of you guys here who have talked about "flash" guys and how nice guys who can be trusted are here too, but you forget that most of us measure quite a lot based on posts initially, and those who constantly flirt outrageously, swear a lot, or get too personal put some of us right off, however friendly we may be towards you on the forums.
That's my personal opinion anyway, and I've chatted to a lot of CS women over the years who think the same.
In addition, some of us, and I don't exclude myself here, pigeonhole ourselves unwittingly perhaps. That's one of the disadvantages of online communication. People may be themselves and as human nature dictates, some will like us and others will not, or they may act crudely or too personal just because they are like that in real life or just because they can here to get attention. The problem for readers is deciding what is real and what is not.

I agree with your comments, my thread was only meant to be enjoyable, not taken as it was. Seems sad the misunderstanding I was not trying to categorize men or else I would have said hurtful comments.
