All I read today talks negative about the impending poll outcome. Come on Australia, a change is needed. Abbott may not be perfect, but when every other choice has failed, how much damage this new guy can do? Worth giving a try

Unless You belong to the privileged few Tony Abbott can do a lot of harm. The liberal party has never been one to champion the less well off in society. It's indicative of the state of Australian politics that a man such as him becomes Prime minister simply because we don't have an alternative. Don't hold your breath waiting for the good times to roll.

That's right Micky, Just wait and see, some of these born again liberals will be the first to whinge when wages start getting cut and social services are stripped bare. I'm afraid we're in for a pretty bleak future.

rebel2: I know nothing about your politics, but i am sorry your not pleased with the results.
That's ok Reb, we have a pretty awful political scene here in Australia, no longer is it about policies and the good of the country, it's all about personalities and how much sledging You can direct at Your opponent. Politics here has turned into a nasty grubby affair, and most Australians are over it.

Been reading a lot about the women politicians in OZ who are standing up for their rights against the misogonists who rule the roost at the moment.

More power to women.
We had a female Prime minister, I thought she did a really good job and she instituted some far reaching policies that will help a lot of Australians. I'm not too hopeful for the new guy.
