Does anyone else feel the greatest sense of urgency to move away from Ohio because you hate it that much? I was born and raised in Ohio and in my later years had the greatest opportunity to live in a couple of other states. I was so happy, no stress, everything was slow paced, and now that I'm back here I'm stressed to the max, my anxiety is through the roof and I'm just completely miserable. Every year the depression and anxiety are worse for me. I know where I want to be, but I'm stuck right now. Just curious is anyone else might feel this way too.

sometimes I feel that way too. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and lived for a few years in upstate New York before moving to ohio about 30 years ago. I stay in Ohio mostly because my children are here. My sister lives in Maine and my cousin in Flordia and I still have family in Pa. too. So I can visit those places, but my home is the buckeye state. ny sons were raised here and the older two will probably always be here. The youngest says not, but we'll see. I can't imagine us not all being together. What is it about Ohio you don;t like? I find this part of the midwest very unfriendly and parochial compared to the east (Pa. maine & fla.)Honestly I have had for the very FIRST time in my life a hard time making friends in Ohio. I have not had that problem anywhere else ...ever

I don't like the people, the traffic, the cost of living which is very high, THE WEATHER, etc. The easier question would be what do I like about Ohio. My boys are here too, the oldest is married and the second oldest is turning 20 this month. The oldest will move if his wife will, the second oldest says no, and the youngest wants to move back to GA. I'm a country girl and Ohio has too much city even in the lesser developed areas. This place is very depressing to me and everyone seems to be turning ghetto...lol. I just prefer the southern living. It's cheaper living, friendlier people, warmer weather, and not a lot of political crap going on either. It's simple like me. I'm trying to move back to GA or go to FL. I hope it happens soon.

I'm sorry you ladies are having a hard time settling in Ohio. I have lived most of my life in southeastern Ohio. I have done some traveling and checking out other places in the last 10 years or so. Some places I liked better than others. I checked out Tampa and St. Augustine .Hated Tampa , loved St. Augustine actually what I loved was Anastasia island. Loved Billings Montana. My children and grandchildren are in Ohio. I miss them when I'm not around them that's why I keep coming back to Ohio. I think the restlessness is due to our age and single state. Or maybe you actually grew roots in another place.

You're right. I did kind of grow roots in another state. But I love the mountains and the ocean and it's my peaceful place. I'd rather be poor and live where I want then stuck here and still be poor grin My boys are here which two are grown one is married, but my youngest was born in GA. Which is where we settled roots. I'm sure being single isn't helping. But I can only control what is in my control and unfortuately being single is something I can't control. Thanks for your reply!
