janie1305: Fabulous! There are so many advantages if people just get over their "my kingdom is my castle" attitude.
I apologise, you didnt actually say i was "wrong".
However, you cant seem to accept that it is not something i would wish to do,and not because i think i "my kingdom is my castle",its just because i am not into that sort of thing.
Great for those that would,but i wouldnt!wine

I love my home, at the end of the day its only bricks and mortar. I was quite fearful at the prospect of holidaying alone with two children. Knowing someone is there if I need them is great. wine

Safety is first and of course you have to trust the person to invite them at your house.
Besides, a house usually has several rooms and your very own can be kept private.

About the insurance of your house allowing a "friend to stay". The premium going up?

confused

but countries are different and policies are many.

Hygiene...good point.
For the ones that would not share their houses because of it.

When you travel, do you rent only the penthouses at the hotels with only new sheets and new matresses for you?

Do you drink-eat in only new and esterilized china-silver-glass-ware?

What about the carpet?

So naive!

What's wrong with Spain? If we house swap we can get a feel of each other's countries. laugh

confused

Is my English that bad???

My post was towards the people that had objections to swap their houses. I guess you missed an earlier post of mine saying that I would swap my home only with people that I know for years but I had to be interested in their countries as well.

However, you can just visit any time with me (for a shor time though).

You do not have many germs, do you?

Sorry, it was the "so naive" comment that confused me.

janie1305: I often read how people here trust and make friends with other CS members, and I admit to not being one of those people even after six years of membership. I have "friends" here but not friends if you know what I mean!

Anyway, how many of you would actually consider a house swap for say two weeks? Are you really so trusting of the folk you message here regularly? If they asked you this question would you agree?

WITH CS MEMBERS? DEFINITELY NOT.
WITH MY FAMILY? CERTAINLY YES.. WITH ONE CONDITION.
MY LITTLE HOUSE IS MY KINGDOM.. AND SO I AM THE QUEEN. I HAVE SET SOME RULES TO FOLLOW, EVEN BY MYSELF. grin

CuddlingSoul: Couldn't we just meet half way and get a hotel room?
On second thought, us meeting half way would put us right in the middle of the Atlantic. Sorry, was thinking with the wrong head again. roll eyes
