Prapiroon: Once they have accepted your friends request you would gain access to their timeline wouldn't you ? They can lie to your face but they cannot invent a fake F.B. profile at the drop of a hat. Not everyone has privacy settings. You can discover quite a lot usually.
Hi Prapiroon, if I distrust a person soooo much then I would be better off without this person in my life from the beginning
if I need to spy on them to understand them for the better...or the worst, well this is telling me volumes..not only about them but me
I would rather get to know the person away from FB and draw my judgments and conclusions from there ie. in the way they communicate with me; be it skype, messages, phone, letters, meeting in person etc
also there is a gut instinct as to a person's character
just like to give a clean slate, and I am no fool, and take it from there

Hi Count Me In, Your right of course and I am not suggesting that we should be spying on people just that we can casually also find out a lot of information through face book. It is a natural thing anyway to friend people on face book after we meet them. But I am mostly referring to faceless people that we may meet on dating sites like this one. It is also a very good idea to skype them before actually agreeing to meet them. Especially for a woman on her own anyway. We do need to protect ourselves as best as we can.

all good, Prapiroon....you do your thing and I do mine
we protect ourselves but we need to let others in (beyond the shield) to allow them into our minds, hearts and well-being > lives
if this does not occur in a positive way, well we have learned more about others but lots more about ourselves...maybe reach out with words, you have nothing to lose and they have more to gain

a predator/physcopath is basically a dangerous control freak...will seek all information he/she can get from what-ever means possible(including his/her friends while breaching his/her privacy)...the internet provides many opportunity's for such loser's who live in fantasy land.
he/she will almost certainly have had a bad experience with the opposite gender.
