let's cut to the quick here. get real. you break all ties when you realize the association/relationship is not in your best interests and/or when communication becomes game playing or any type of nasty one upmanship....at that point I be like, "ya, I ain't answering you even if you standing right in front of me so best leave me alone..."
if u handle it right they will know you have cut them off - u don;t have to explain it to them
