Some men aren't so great at taking selfies as we women.
...but I do agree main profile pic should be without sunglasses so we get a more accurate idea of what they look like.
...and ideally, a recent pic or two would help also.

Not all of us like to broadcast(even to friends) that we are wanting a pic taken for an online dating site.
I can only assume that is why.
I prefer to take my own pics for the site.

I think in some cases it is deliberate (especially if the photos are +10 years old). 
Photos are a tool to give people some idea about your looks, if you don't like it, just move on.

People look totally different with and without baseball caps too.

Some people are genuinely camera shy and don't like putting their pic up they might look better in person not that looks is everything because it really is in the eye of beholder as personality whether we are quiet,shy ,introverted or the opposite,,,I think always being true to ourselves is what's counts sometimes we like want to be that big personality and make jokes and people will love us then some trying to hard and the shy or quiet ones are just as interesting as the one with the big personality and it really is about finding the sock to match,.
Btw I've worn odd socks and its added abit of eccentrity. .if a person hasn't got a great pic up or none but you have been connecting give them a chance,I've known some to have brill pics up and to be honest when I met one even tho he looked much the same I wasn't attracted to him.

That works both ways though, I've got on brilliantly with faceless people for ages, but then when they send a photo there's just no attraction, that's not to say they're ugly or anything, they're just not attractive to me. I think you need both for a relationship.

Yes that's the point I was making, some people look better or worse in real life than in the pic,,,and I'm sure if something was going to come about from emailing him on the laptop then one surely would get to meet them anyway,I wouldn't care if someone had no pic up or a good pic or a bad pic up if there was no intention of meeting them I'm talking about people that we not going to meet anyway as they live to far away,..and I'm sure if you connect with someone and you like a pic from them they would send you one privately on your phone as that happend in my case he sent it to my mobile and he phoned me so we were not just messaging on the dateing site forever and ever,

I don't think a picture up is that important on the forums here as I don't class it as a dating site,.. But if one did connect with someone on here then of course they send it in private,. I loveing the forums ..
