Obstinance_Works: They will not appear that way. If they did appear this way they wouldn't have very much success. No, they will appear to be the opposite because they do understand the way that normal people think and what is necessary to trick them. That is why they can hide in plain sight because they look "normal"
Many of them present a saintly sweet image of themselves and do their utmost to sound kind and empathetic - friends and neighbours often say of apprehended serial killers that they "wouldn't hurt a fly" - but actually they feel a great disdain for society and they will perceive social normality and order as chains on their individualism - that is to say that he is an egomaniac. Not sure about egomaniac - simply no empathy for othersPeople are objects to them.
Serial killing is more common in the US because your culture is extremely egotistical and revolves around the individual almost entirely. Ayn Rand, the autistic Jewish headcase and leader of the American way of extreme individualism admired William "the hacker" Hickman for dismembering a 12 year old girl because he did not care at all what society thinks. And here on the forum we have a woman of the same blood, the same mental condition, and the same sense of extreme individualism trying to get us to empathise with serial killers. Serial killers are not focussed on in the same way - perhaps other countries do not glorify and write so many stories about them in the same way.Or perhaps, Americans are more likely to catch them - they don't become unsolvable mysteries like Jack the ripper.
Now cultures where nobody knows who Ayn Rand is and where the 'common good' and social norms are more prominent have fewer serial killers.
Yeah, like in the amazon with cannibals, or various 3rd world places with tribal warfare still raging.....
All this talk of empathy and yet no one has defined which aspect of empathy to which they refer. That renders this discussion somewhat of a useless muddle.
peachmelba: Yes I agree with you these men that have been rejected by a woman,be it their mother or lover or wife cannot accept it and so will seek justice in their eyes and plot to kill,
They may take it out on all women they meet and convince themselves it is justice to kill them,
It is just a crazy mixed up world isn't it?
Although, on the other hand, there have been women who, usually use poison and go on and kill their husbands and lovers, or tenants.....
black widow, ...... yikes I googled and I am wrong about the idea that women use poison - how unlike me to let a gender stereotype go unchecked...

They often have that or they have abnormally close relationships with their mothers. Most serial killers come from dysfunctional families with an absent father, over 70% of teenage murderers grew up without a father.

Because if you actually bother to scroll back through famous poisoners of history or to check the crime statistics you will realize first that 1) poison is a gender-neutral weapon and, 2) a greater proportion of poisoners are men. Let’s put this in the context of some relatively recent context. The U. S. Department of Justice’s report on Homicide Trends in the United States (1980 to 2008) offers up this statistical insight: of all poison killers in that time period 60.5 percent male and 39.5 percent female.
Of course, most murderers, period, are male. The justice department’s homicide trend report I cited, finds, that killers are statistically 89.5 percent males and 10.5 percent females. And there’s another point, I think, to be gleaned from this criminal justice overview. In other violent crimes, male dominance is much more pronounced than in poison killings. Over all for felony murders? That’s 93.2 percent male offenders, 6.8 percent female. And if we consider our country’s weapon of choice, the firearm? Gun homicides stand at 92.1 percent male, 7.9 percent female. And this more extreme ratio holds across the other DOJ categories, from arson to workplace argument.
There is a black and white film based on all true events ,starring Richard attenbouragh the late great film director and actor,
I don't know the name of it I have only seen a trailer,
But he is brilliant in it portraying a very friendly NICE man who takes in lodgers,
No one would ever suspect what this dear friendly man would get up to and what he had in mind when he took two newly weds and what he had premeditated for the young woman,
