At what age do you allow your child to make a decision that may forever change their life...such as getting a tattoo.

In the US, most states as far as i know you must have parental permission before getting a tattoo before the age of 18.

How about drinking alcohol???

As an infant our mother rub whiskey on our gums when teething.
When the girls had cramps, we got a shot of whiskey!

My daughter was pierced at her navel when she was 16, good grades and respect for life gave her this rite.

My son had always manifested interests on tattoos, but haven't done it till he was out of home, once he was on his own, he's the master of his will, and hanging along with friends,, all that things are to their reach, but from where i am, no strict laws against tattoos and for the alcohol, laws are always not easy to implement, lot of them started drinking at a more & more younger age ,, social problem here, they cost to the society/health cares,,,

My mother let me make my own decisions about certain before I turned 18.

Other decisions I had to wait til I was 18.

My late hubby and I raised our son the same way.Like me and his father our son doesn't drink or smoke.

Cgedvr There isn't really a lot to tell.Although I had to grow up so to speak at 9 years old.I won't bore you with all the details cause I have mentioned it so many times on here.My mother let me make my own decisions from the age of 9 yrs old because she could trust me to do the right thing. She never had to worry about me getting in trouble with the law etc.I was a good kid.Not perfect but good.

After the age of consent it's obviously I could make my own decisions.
