SpagoochSt. Catharines, Canada21 Threads 387 PostsIt kills me how folks make grand announcements how they are leaving CS because of particular "elements" that they can no longer tolerate. They illicit sympathy, "good lucks" and "you take cares", and other forms of affirmation for their decision. 5 days later they are back. If one is going to leave, why not just leave? Why the high drama? I don't get it.
Some were going to leave , but someone manage to talk him/her out of it. Sometimes people are upset or angry about what others say to them. I am aware that it can get real mean on here sometimes. You have to be able to ignore a lot of things if you want to get somewhere on this site.
Gotta agree with Spagooch on this one. I think people that announce they are leaving generally are just looking for some type of attention. Not all, but most!
Some people need a break and just some time away from the site i think. I have seen a few regular CS Posters do this.
Well I feel that if you need a break then just take one. No need to announce it! Just my opinion of course!
ya i agree. both Spidey and Gibs have done it recently and many others. dont really care if they like to play games. Glad they come back the more the merrier.

Maybe people are just at such a frustration point, that they have to leave. They announce it and the attention that they get encourages them to stay. We all need to feel cared for - and the communication on CS can give some people that sense. That may be why they say good-bye, but don't leave for good. I am glad when people don't leave - we are not a very large group.

I was thinking about Urs's post about the words from "Hotel California" when I wrote my note! Perhaps it is true. CS-Canada Forums is a "place to belong". It is not the greatest place sometimes and sometimes it is really dead, however, it is a "place to belong". We all need that. Lorraine.
I enjoy the fourms and that is why I stay. I feel that most of people here are friends and I want to hear their views. I may not always agree with their views, but I do respect what others are saying, and would hope others respect my opinion be it the same or different from yours.
As for people making grand announcements about leaving,I agree that they have been talked into staying.. which is great. as was posted earlier.. the more the merrier. If someone truely wanted to leave I am sure they would just leave unannounced and we would be left wondering where they went.
