Kind of like I am one to drive down the street and if something is on the side of the road I don't really pay attention. I have a friend who can be driving, chewing gum, talking and she spots nice things to use. I just amazed with that.. nice stuff... I just don't have that knack
Great question!!! I had that in my Christian profile once. Diamond in the rough to be placed as a precious jewel on the crown of the man who can polish me Spiritually/Physically/Emotionally-Mentally. True love does transform!
Have you ever heard the story of the man who traded a great number of livestock (old testament days) for a woman who was not outwardly beautiful? I have been wanting this story forever... In the end, she was very physically beautiful because his love transformed he, even as far as outward beauty. She became into what he perceived her as. Sorry
I totally agree lion. We tend to look at the outside and pass judgement before we get a chance to get a good look at what's on the inside. I have never tried to "polish" anyone. I feel God made us all the way we are for a reason. I used to be ashamed of my height. I used to cry about it when I was in Jr.-High. But once I got into sports, I realized I was just as good as the rest of the kids. Since then, I have never wanted to be anyone but who I am, ME! Believe me, I was called very hurtful names when I was in school, I'm so past that now.
I had a growth spurt in elementary school. I GOT BREASTS! lol. Before all the other girls. Guys would try to poke me, and said I stuffed.
Then I quit growing, and in 11th grade I cried, cause my chest was smaller than everyone elses. My sister told me I'd be sorry for wishing for bigger ones. She was right. I prefer em small, since I AM THE ONLY ONE who has to lug them around al day/every day. lol! Ughhh ; )
As far as the polishing...I welcome a man's opposites to challenge, and to balance my opposites. They say opposites attract for a reason!
I was looking through this thread and happened to notice ponies post:

I can remember in Junior High being teased because of weight and it really affected me. My mom always told me not to let it get to me..laugh with them and the thrill of their taunts won't be as fun for them. When I was in high school I got rid of the weight and toned up. The scars were still there though. Even though I looked good I didn't appreciate fully, comparing myself to the models in magazines and tv. Then while I was pregnant with my daughter I gained the weight back and appreciated what I had, I was devastated. One thing I came to realize is that some people didn't look at the outside and saw me as an attractive woman anyway. It is amazing how childhood taunting can affect you. If I ever heard my kids talking in such a way about someone I always told them how their words hurt and I think they got the idea.
Ahhhh, but a diamond in the dark is just an invisible hard cold stone...it is Light that lends a diamond its beauty...and any beauty borrowed is lacking truth.
I sure would hope so. With so many stones unturned there´s got to be a gem some where. Lets hope some one else doesn´t see her first. And if I only find a carbonbased copy, I´ll hugh her so many times that she´ll become the diamond anyway.
