Katine I truly understand what you are going through. a few years back the hospital sent my dad home just before xmas and told him to enjoy his last xmas with his family. and thats what he did. he lasted a few months later, but it was all in pain. he was asking to die. there is medicine the nurses put into the tube to make the end happen a bit faster so they dont suffer. my dad knew we said yes as he heard and was begging to go. we all made peace with him, said our good byes, and when he did leave it was much easier on all of us.
right now might be a good time to have a good talk with your mother. your thoughts and mother will be in my prayers. i hope she doesnt suffer too much longer.

I talked to my mom last night on the phone. You can tell she is quite tired and fed up of the pain and suffering. It is difficult to hear her like that. She was never one to give up.
