Virtual private networks.... ( Archived) (4)

"Free" wifi. Info troll scammers, like facebook. Home ISP. It's amazing how the capitalistic marketing pushers, who actually study such at university, are out to gather, and to somehow market, private data. Less of a concern as to your choice of skivvies, but how about your daily compulsive trips to those naughty triple X sites? Or dark web interests? The mother of all oxymorons is the "free VPN" service. Sure, it may cost nothing, but then what are these crumbs doing with info on your favorite salami? A computer savvy pal says for less than a dollar weekly, one can purchase no contract VPN, where your fee pays them, not their selling your info. Interesting times, peebles. Aa-V.

It's the intrusive end of demand management and protectionism will accelerate this trend towards circumscribed choice. You don't discover anything new or different because you're having the familiar thrust upon you.

The less people leave their comfort zone the more you can predict what they're going to do - whittling peoples options down lies at the heart of stability and order and a lot of business wants this as do aging populations.
