I don't read anything into things other than what's there...I find attaching my own meaning to other peoples words or actions is presumptuous of me because we all have our own meanings behind the things we do and say the trouble is our meaning and context is not always the same as someone elses....therefore its better to ask than presume I think.....

I will admit I don't always succeed but I do try now not to attach my meaning and if I don't understand I ask....well that's on them if they don't react well to a simple question but to me its far better than more than likely getting the meaning wrong....
