North - South Divide??? (128)
I don't know - my best mate is from Liverpool and still have deep family roots there - I don't notice her accent unless she's been back up there for a while. But I was talking to my daughter in Oz recently and she says I sound really cockney - although I never thought I did compared to some people I know, and has said a couple of times when on msn - you're cockney roots are showing mum. So in answer I think it depends on the person who's listening or talking to you!
i think to hear anyones voice after seeing only a pic is gonna be a shock,i think you visualise how a person is gonna be,voice,mannerisms.id expect you to have a southern accent cos your from there(talk about stating the bloody obvious)but i wouldnt expect ya to sound like dot cotton 
See that's the thing people don't realise themselves anyway - but as for dot cotton I'm definately not that bad, I was thinking along the lines of Pat Butcher!

I've often heard that there is a North and South divide but I've never personally felt it.
Is it an accent thing? Would anyone be put off by a Southern or Northern accent?
Why is it that when I have spoken to guys up north, they seem to think I sound like someone off of Eastenders? Yet anyone from the south would disagree and say I have a Hampshire twang lol.
Has anyone spoke to a person online and then had a bit of shock when they hear the persons voice?
I'm in a thought provoking mood lol, and curious
