Are you serious? or are you just trying to be provocative? 
If you are a US citizen, nuf said! We are a country of imigrants, afterall. Many of my friends are from other countries and came to this country for millions of reasons - one being the ability to speak openly about improving your community, and to have a say in the political process.
Of course, you must know that all countries do not allow their citizens to 'change the way things are', yes?

to be prez they do have to be born here
maybe not a bad idea for senate
but other than that they should be permited
but what about senate seats heldby those not from that state (should be resident of that state for ten years in my opinion)

You make a good point - the length of time one has actually been a US citizen should matter. As we are now in more of a global economy, and folks are moving around the globe more, the country in which you are born should not apply. Interestingly, many foreign-born citizens can have more than one passport.
I say, if you can vote, and have established a track record of leadership in the USA, you should be allowed to run for any public office. Why not, seriously?

Yes, I think that they should be allowed to do whatever they have the American right to do, once they become legal. One could say they should have been able to change the politics where they are from. But...is that really so easy?? I mean, how good a job are we doing in changing things here in our own country? Fresh blood and new ideas are welcome from me. The politicians we have now are just in it for the money and the status for the most part. I personally am looking for someone new, with new ideas, such as a woman, or a nationality change, or a legal immigrant,just someone with more heart and someone whose only agenda is for the good of THE PEOPLE, and no more. Someone who had never had anything just given to them. But what do I know?

I Feel the same way. Truth is most Americans are immigrants. America is supposed to be the land of opportunity...And if the opportunity arises, then let freedom ring for everyone. I really think that immigrants that want to be citizens are more likely to address true issues and be even more passionate about it.

Okay...wait a minute. I agree with most that say you must be born here to hold public office, but I think we're a little off base when we say we're all immigrants. Somewhere in my lineage there were immigrants, but I was born and raised here in the USA, as were my parents, and their parents and so on and so on.
When I think of an immigrant, I think of someone who has been in the country only recently or their parents were direct immigrants. Maybe I'm confusing myself

Good point, I mean look at the Statue of Liberty. She is right up in your face. How many women could say they have had a makeover as expensive as she has had? She is my favorite ice queen. She holds a torch for everybody and they call her the Statue of Liberty. She wasn't made in America but came to us as a gift. Take a look at those spiked horns coming out of her head. She is one tough mama. And talking about getting thumped. How would you like to get thumped by that book she carries in her other hand? I would like for somebody to say she needs to have underarm deodorant under that arm holding the torch. And that beautiful long hair that she has. I think she is really something.

i don't agree with all that bush has done but yes it could have been a lot worse job performed
maybe if the majority of the people in this country would look into who they vote for and if the media would make facts of those running available instead of negative campaining --------------

I don't think they should be. If they didn't like the way things were in whatever country they came from, why didn't they do it there?
