Cavalero: That's what I do when I travel and visit places, I steer clear of the tourist attractions.
That's why most the time I go backpacking and camping. Man-made stuff don't interest me anymore.
Wow, we're quite in the same mood Ca .

Yes I did that in the whole part of Eastern Australia. Rented a van and went to all the unique unpublished places of Queensland down to NSW.

I'm wanting to go to Tasmania but perhaps part of S Africa might entice my interest first. Lived in Asia and its amazing.

I feel no wanting to visit Australia...Maybe New Zealand, maybe.
I'd like to visit Peru, Russia, Greece and Jordan.
Which country out of the ones you visited do you like most?
So far for me it's Rwanda and Egypt.
I was so shocked at seeing how ( generality ) the Rwandans are so welcoming and kind. I stayed there three months...to short a time to visit such a beautiful country.

My most interesting ones are those from Asia in the center of poverty laden places. I only appreciated it after my whole travel of the first world. How amazingly natural to live on a survival level and yet full of humility, compassion and joy.

We as a traveler feel the polarized contrast if life. Anything that is different from how we lived and its a wonder worth remembering. I have specific liking to the Philippines, Switzerland, Italy and France. Nepal, Thailand and many more. Safety is my priority . Puerto Rico is a whole world, too and Mexico.

It goes to show that happiness is a state of being.

I liked Italy, although the people there seemed very malcontent, almost grumbling...
I was in France last year for 4 months...I don't recognize the country I grew up in.
Nepal is also a destination I'm interested in thumbs up

Yes. Many places in France have changed for the worst and the population has changed dramatically from the 80's as well.
I'm glad the Yellow Vests are bringing some sort of brotherhood and sisterhood back to French society.
What you see in the protests, people helping each other out, caring for one another under the gaz assaults by police, protecting women and the young and saving each other's lives ( literally! ) has been missing since the 60's.
In that sense, Macron has brought the French people together laugh

YES, the south of France is infinitely better than the north. More sun, more open-minded people, a slower more laid back kind of existence...Plus I'm partial to it since I was born in Camargue and lived in beautiful Arles.

As in real life, some people get on well with others, while some don't. There is strife, and conflict, and the ultimate: a Loving couple is born, and as in real life, not very often!

I don't know about all that but I miss the Bouches-du-Rhône... I think I'll retire there and close the loop of my lifelong travels.

It's definitely going to be a special time. There are places there I haven't seen since the 70's
